Monthly Astronomy Viewing Guide

Each month, Coolscopes.com will list many astronomy events and notable astronomy occurrences for your monthly viewing pleasure so you can see what's up this month. Bookmark this page and come back to take help plan your observing sessions.  We will detail where each planet will be in the sky and when is best to view them.  You will get moon phase information.  The astronomy and telescope viewing guide will list visible comets, visible asteroids, and other solar system objects to make your astronomy observing more productive.

If you are are going stargazing tonight,  you should have an observing plan, including a list of objects that you want to see.  It is also worthwhile to take some notes on each object you see, noting information, such as size, brightness, position, color (if you are looking at a bright enough object, such as a planet), and sky conditions.  Both of these suggestions will greatly increase your astronomy experience.   You can compare notes at different times of the year and can chart some objects daily such as Jupiter's moons.

Check back monthly to get your updated viewing guide.  Also, if you want us to send you an email when we update this page, please register your email with us on the left side of the page.  We respect your privacy and will never disclose your email address to anyone under any circumstance.
